The essence of a facade is ambivalent – it is to protect the interior from wind and weather and yet convey transparency and lightness. It provides for the lion’s share of energy efficiency in the building and outwardly for the public perception of architecture. It is protection and representation.
The appearance of a facade, a projecting roof surface or a translucent superstructure is influenced significantly by the supporting structure.
To implement glass facades with maximum transparency, we reduce the number and dimension of the supporting elements to a minimum.
We give very high priority to economic and ecological considerations regarding energy efficiency. The result of good planning extends far beyond the investment phase and determines the sustainability and value of a building for many years
