Dresden-Briesnitz

Elementary school and gym

The new two-form entry elementary school with a two-court sports hall was planned in accordance with the Assessment System for Sustainable Building (BNB). The BNB pilot project of the city of Dresden was awarded the silver certificate. The 2-storey reinforced concrete construction of the school building with partial basement is characterized by a centrally arranged and column-free atrium area of approx. 400 m². The slender attic ceiling was implemented as a prestressed in-situ concrete ceiling. The use of hollow core elements in the floor slabs (Cobiax slab) should be emphasized in terms of resource conservation. The proportion of vertical load-bearing elements is less than 20 percent compared to the finishing walls. This means that the BNB-certified school building can be certified as having maximum flexibility.
