Miedelsbach

Old wine press

Built in the 14th century, the wine press in the center of Miedelsbach was largely in a very dilapidated condition. The renovation and reconstruction of the old wine press was carried out with the aim of preserving and repairing components that were still in working order. The focus of the structural design was on the preservation of the old horizontal collar beam roof trusses made of trusses and purlins as well as the reconstruction of the half-timbering on the gable walls and the renewal of the rafters. Further tasks were to rebuild the timber framework of the first floor, which could no longer be preserved, with exposed concrete walls with the imprint of a timber framework, the installation of a glass box as a dormer window and the installation of an exposed concrete box on the ground floor to accommodate the ancillary rooms and as a "table" for the glass box.
