Zweifeldsporthalle Südengrundschule/Kimmelmannschule
When building the new two-court sports hall for the two schools, the client's wish for renewable raw materials and thus wood and wood-based materials was to be fulfilled. On the other hand, the supporting structure was to be as light and slender as possible. The latter was planned as a wide-span roof structure with a span of 22 m and a rectangular box girder consisting of glulam with a wall thickness of 24 cm. To regulate the deformations caused by the relatively heavy structure due to the use of the roof area as a playground, the box girders are prestressed on the inside with tendons.
